Using the 4 temperature probes and the differential pressure sensor, we can infer:

• the continuous temperatures profile
• the Darcy velocity
• the advective heat flux (how much energy is transported by the moving water)

In this example, with real terrain data, we see that the Darcy velocity is positive. Because we oriented positive \(z\) towards the ground, this means that the river water is infiltrating the aquifer.
